Postcard of 'The Forth Rail Bridge'
Postcard of 'The Forth Rail Bridge' taken from South Queensferry. This image was taken likely to have been taken recently after the bridge was opened. The train pictured is a passenger train of the North British Railway.

The bridge was opened on the 4th March 1890 by the Prince of Wales, later Edward VIII. There were celebrations marking the 100th anniversary and celebrations included bonfires along the shore and light displays on different islands.

The boat beside the pier is likely to be a ferry.
