Postcard of 'The Forth Rail Bridge'
Postcard of 'The Forth Rail Bridge' taken from South Queensferry. It is likely this image was taken in the decade after the bridge was opened in 1892. A North British Railway express train can be seen crossing the bridge and a North British Railway ferry going from North Queensferry to South Queensferry. The ferry ran until 1964 although from the 1920s onwards, she principally became a car ferry. The ferry stopped when the road bridge opened.
