Crew of HMD 'Tulip', taken while on Naval service during World War I.

Steam drifter/liner 'Tulip' KY201 was built in Pittenweem, 1908. She belonged to Fergus Hughes and was on Naval service from May 1915 to August 1918 as a net vessel during the First World War, Admiralty No. 2503. She was renamed 'Tulip II' in March 1917. She was sunk on 23.8.18 in a collision off St. Anthony.

The crew pose wearing military caps but their fishermen's ganseys. The engineer and fireman wear overalls. Also on board are a puppy (held by the man at the front) and a kitten (perched on the shoulder of the man at the back right).
