Title
'Pride of the Clyde', TT20, in harbour, St Monans, 1949.
Description
‘Pride of the Clyde’ was built for Archie Kerr, Tarbert, to replace ‘Jessie’ TT94. He died in 1955, aged 73. His wife, May Sinclair, was 95 when she died in 1980. She was the last boat built by Walter Reekie of St Monans. He died after falling and striking his head on the gunwale while going on board with items to fit out the boat after the launch. The photograph was taken after her launch and before her wheelhouse and deck gear were fitted. In 1952, she was sold to Skipper Matt Leadley of Whitby and renamed 'Success II', WY63. In 1960 she was sold and reregistered SH112. In 1975, she was sold to Skipper Bill Messruther of Scarborough where she was reregistered 'Success II', LH157, and re-engined. She was sold in 1988 and then later decommissioned c. 1994. Copyright: Harry Berstecher R.S.W., 30 Shore Street, Anstruther, Fife.
