'Arctic Riever' GN23
Description
Trawler 'Arctic Riever', CN23 in Loch Broom, near Ullapool, 1980. Built by Clelands Shipbuilding Co Ltd, of Wallsend (Yard no: 331), for Boyd Line of Hull. She was launched on 14/4/1975 and completed In July 1975. She was managed by William Liston Ltd of Granton. She had a length of 137ft and a beam of 31ft. Her gross tonnage was 402 tons. She was powered by a 1,700bhp Mirrlees Blackstone 4 stroke 16-cylinder diesel. She was based at Granton, until the port closed in 1978. After Granton closed, she was transferred to Hull. Although never based in Aberdeen, she was known to have landed in Aberdeen on a number of occasions. In 1986, she became 'Arctic Riever' LO341. In the same year, she was bought by Russell Smith & Partners of Lerwick, Shetland. She then became 'Vega CS' LK330. In 1998, she was decommissioned and then scrapped at Greena, Denmark. IMO: 7366130.
