The young child holding onto a man behind her is Margaret Pitcher and her father, William Wood.

‘Boy John’ BA307 was launched in 1947 for J. Fyffe, Girvan, who was also her skipper. She was sold the following year to Campbeltown and registered ‘Rhu na Gal’ CN163 on 2 December 1948. Her original owners were Roderick MacDonald and Duncan Gilchrist, but the latter withdrew from the partnership in 1950. She was sold in 1957 for £2,800 by the Herring Industry Board to a partnership in Cairnbulg and became ‘Faithful’ FR129.
