Launch of 'Royal Sovereign' Cellardyke, 1936.

'Royal Sovereign' was built at Cellardyke during 1936 then was sold sometime before 1946. She did not undertake any fishing during the Second World War.

Original - E. Doig.

Built by the East Fife Boat Building Company. Boatbuilder George Forbes, ex-Sandhaven, was brought to Cellardyke by Provost William Carstairs to build the 'Royal Sovereign' KY75, in 1936 as a replacement for the 'Gleanaway' KY40, the first successful motor drifter. The yard closed in 1938 due to lack of orders and Forbes relocated to Peterhead.
