‘Margaret Newton’ was launched by J. N. Miller & Sons, St Monans, in October 1948, for Sweeney McGeachy, Campbeltown. She was 55ft in length and weighed 23 tons.

She was sold by the Herring Industry Board on 8 December 1956 to William and Neil Jackson, Tarbert, and became ‘Village Belle III’ TT66.
