Steam drifter 'Craignoon' KY279, and crew
The steam drifter 'Craignoon' KY279 and her crew before 1914. Built by William Geddes in Portgordon in 1908 for Alexander Rodger, Cellardyke & Thomas Cunningham & others, Anstruther.

She was sunk by Austro Hungarian cruisers near Faro Island in the Adriatic while on service during World War I. 14 drifters were sunk in this action, known as the 'Battle of Otranto', 15th May 1917. The skipper, James Brunton Wilson, and crew were imprisoned for the remainder of the War.
