The launch of ‘Gratitude’ CN114 at Robert Wylie’s boatyard, Campbeltown
The launch of ‘Gratitude’ CN114 at Robert Wylie’s boatyard, Campbeltown, in February 1936.

She was built for James Meenan Jr. (skipper) and George Meenan. While being conveyed by ‘bogie’ from the yard to the slip at the New Quay, she fell over on to the road and lay there until righted and finally launched. Wylie had died in 1934, aged 76, after 45 years in business, and ‘Gratitude’ was the last boat built at the yard. She was sold to Ramsey, Isle of Man, in 1946, becoming RY 19, and was wrecked in 1954.
