Title
'Endeavour' ML80
Description
'Endeavour' ML80 'Endeavour', ML80, was built in Sandhaven in 1904. She belonged to John Cargill, originally from Arbroath, and his sons, David, John, and Bob, from around 1928 to 1940. She was converted from sail to motor during which her two masts were cut and two paraffin fuelled engines were installed in the aft cabin. These were a 30HP Kelvin and a 60 HP Gardner engines. She regularly fished for herring in the Forth, at Peterhead, and at Great Yarmouth until 1939. These explosives were used to service wartime civil engineering projects in Scapa Flow.
