Printed in the Daily Record and Mail, the article reads 'A welcome for herring is being prepared by these East Neuk of Fife fishermen. They are tanning their nets in readiness for the home herring fishing season which starts next week and will probably last about three months. Scene is in a yard at Anstruther.'

The yard is now part of the Scottish Fisheries Museum courtyard.
