Description
Trawler 'Kingsdale', A437 in Plymouth, 1980. Built by John Lewis & Sons of Aberdeen (Yard no 378), for D.W Ross & Partners of Aberdeen. She was launched early in 1973 and completed in March1973. Her length was 79ft 4in, and her beam was 21ft 3in. Her gross tonnage was 117 tons. She was powered by a 600bhp Lister Blackstone ETSL6MGR diesel. She was sold in 1979, to Kenneth G. Wood & Macrae Duggie McPherson Ltd of Buckie, and then became Kingsdale BCK282 in 1980. In 1985, she was owned by the Bickleigh Fishing Co of Aberdeen. In 1986, she was owned by Robert A Johnson of Scalloway. In 1987, she went to Peterhead owners David Morgan Jr, David Morgan Sr, and Caley Fisheries (Peterhead) Ltd, and was renamed Kingsdale PD359. In 1992, she was owned by Macduff Shipyard Ltd. In 1994, she was owned by a Brian Wood of Macduff, who renamed the vessel Ability BF 9. She remained with these owners until 2010. After which she owned by various Fraserburgh owners. The first of which, renamed the vessel Resilient III FR327. She was still listed as being in service, in 2023 as Resilient FR327. Although still rigged as a fishing vessel, she was being used as a guard vessel for various offshore wind farm projects. IMO: 7305382. Original photo taken by Reg Weir.
