Workers outside Alex Aitken, Boatbuilder, Anstruther, 1936. The building was also used by J Parker, Plumber, and was later incorporated into the Scottish Fisheries Museum site.

The shipstone of the former Ansrtuther Whale Fishing Company is set into the wall above the archway on the right. This section of wall was later demolished and the stone reset in the gable.

The ladder above it leads up to the tide light which was lit at half tide.
