Crews hauling a net of herring onboard 'Stormdrift', BA264.
Crews on ‘Storm Drift’ BA264 hauling a ring-net with a heavy meshing of herring. She was built by W. Weatherhead, Cockenzie, in 1933, for Sammy Gemmell, Dunure, her skipper. Her neighbour-boat, at the right, may be the ‘Ristango’ BA117, skipper John Gemmell Jr. She was built at Cockenzie in 1927 as the ‘Margarita’, for John and James McCrindle, Maidens, became the ‘Senorita’, within the same family, and then the ‘Ristango’, keeping the same registration throughout the changes.
