Seiner 'Gallic May', BCK108 in Ullapool, early 1980s.

Original photo taken by Reg Weir.

One of the first purse seiners in the Scottish fleet ‘Gallic May’, along with her sister ship ‘Gallic Rose’ BCK109, was built in Dieppe in 1975 for Gallic Shipping Ltd. of London. Both boats were 92 feet long and 181 tons.

‘Gallic May’ was sold to William Whyte and others, Fraserburgh, in 1989 and renamed 'Gratitude' FR249. She later became 'Gratitude' FR 952, and finally 'Fortuna'.
