Loch Kildonan PD79, Peterhead, early 1980s
Built by Herd & McKenzie at Buckie (Yard no: 141), in 1956. She was the first steel vessel to be built at Buckie.
She was 100ft long, with a 22ft beam and was 149 gross tons. She had a 355bhp Ruston & Hornsby engine.
She was originally built as a long liner. But she briefly worked as a side trawler, once a trawl winch was fitted.
After service in Aberdeen, she went to Peterhead as Loch Kildonan PD79, in 1970. There she worked as a seine netter.
She sank in the North Sea on 17th January 1987. Fortunately, her crew were all rescued.
IMO: 5210313.
