'Royal Sovereign' KY75 being built at Cellardyke harbour.
'Royal Sovereign' KY75 being built at Cellardyke harbour. 68 foot long. Ordered by Provost Carstairs. The 'slip' is at the edge of the harbour and the vessel must be launched broadside on.

Built by the East Fife Boat Building Company. Boatbuilder George Forbes, ex-Sandhaven, was brought to Cellardyke by Provost William Carstairs to build the 'Royal Sovereign' KY75, in 1936 as a replacement for the 'Gleanaway' KY40, the first successful motor drifter. The yard closed in 1938 due to lack of orders and Forbes relocated to Peterhead.
