Robert Thomson was the owner of 'Agenora' and WIlliam Thomson was son of Andrew Thomson and father of Thomas 'Piper' Thomson.

The photograph was paid for with 'Arle Pennies' saved by the crew. This was extra money received from the fish buyer to who whom they 'arled' themselves when bringing herring into English east coast ports.
