According to the donor, Mrs Orr, the fishwives used to copy the patterns of Anstruther, Pittenweem etc, jerseys when they landed at Fisherrow and go home and knit them for their own men. It is said that the various patterns were done so that if men were drowned they could be identified by their jersey, although this has not been confirmed.
