Waid Academy, 1914
Valentine postcard of Waid Academy, Anstruther. Serial number indicates a date of 1889. The school had opened in 1886 and was named after Lieutenant Andrew Waid (1736–1804), an Anstruther man, who had left his money for the founding of Waid's Orphan Naval Academy for the sons of poor mariners and fishermen. The wing on the right was originally the headmaster's house before being converted to use as classrooms.

This building was superseded by the building of a new school of the same name in 2017.
