Steam drifter/liner 'Golden Strand' KY107 at sea during World War I, 1914-1918. Built in 1911 at Portgordon for James Stevenson and others of Cellardyke, the boat was requisitioned for Naval service as a mine sweeper or patrol vessel. The image shows the gun mounted at the bow.

Steam drifter 'Golden Strand' was built in 1911 by William Geddes, Portgordon for James Stevenson & others, Cellardyke.

After the War, she was sold in 1920 to Alexander Lough & others, Eyemouth, Reg. BK212.

On 02/11/1927 she collided with 'Acquire' of Banff off Lowestoft and sank. Crew rescued by 'Acquire'.
