After naming ceremony of 'Nellie and Charlie' lifeboat in Anstruther, July 1933.

Commander Michelmore of the R.N.L.I gave a description of the boat. He said it was a light Liverpool type 35 feet long by 10 feet beam, fitten with a 35 horsepower petrol engine and speciallty designed by J.R. Barnett for stations where she had to be launched off a carriage. Her speed was 7 1/2 knots and she carried enough fuel to sail 115 miles. She would have a crew of 7 and could carry 30 persons in rough weather.
