At Campbeltown regatta, in September 1904, competing with eight other skiffs, the ‘Clemina’ won the premier race with a time of 4 hours 4 minutes and 30 seconds, 26 seconds ahead of Peter McMillan’s ‘Sweet Home’ CN674 and 2 minutes 12 seconds ahead of John McKay’s ‘Angelus’ CN8. The only two men not wearing ganseys are Adam McLeod, a sailmaker and Bob Wylie, a boatbuilder. Adam McLeod made the sails for the ‘Clemina’ – special sails, made on a larger scale, were used for regatta purposes – and Bob Wylie built the ‘Clemina’ in 1901.
