Ring-netters at Whitby, 1950s.
Ring-netters at Whitby, c 1950. CN253 is the ‘Glen Carradale’ of Carradale and the Rothesay vessel alongside her appears to be Donald McAnsh’s ‘Betty’ CN260. Judging by the seats attached to the deck of WY 11, she is catering for day-trippers. In the foreground, to right of her wheelhouse, a quarter-cran basket of herring is being winched ashore.
