Downies - Photo - East Coast Harbours, with the wooden runners for drawing boats up the beach still in place.

This photograph was commissioned in 1981 by the Scottish Fisheries Museum to match a drawing of the same location featured in the book 'FISHING BOATS AND FISHER FOLK ON THE EAST COAST OF SCOTLAND' by Peter Anson, 1929. The series shows how the harbours had changed 50 years later.
