Ullapool Town Clock
Ullapool Town Clock (Fowler Memorial Clock), early 1980s.

Highly decorative cast iron clock with lamps, a weathervane, pedestal and base with inscriptions. A London Firm Dent & Co made the clock mechanism which has since been converted to electric power.

The clock was commissioned by Sir John Fowler of Braemore in 1899 in memory of his sons and grandsons who were killed in action. It originally stood in the middle of the road between the Caledonian Hotel, the corner of Quay Street and Argyle Street but was moved to its current location in Quay Street in 1922.
