Harbour entrance, Dunbar, c. 1920.
Waves crashing against harbour entrance, Dunbar, c. 1920.

To the right is the old harbour entrance; the battery and hospital are all but demolished. The battery was built in the Napoleonic era as protection against the French. The hospital was for isolation cases.

It was at this entrance on 14th October 1881 that three brothers from the Newhaven pilot boat, 'Concord', were drowned.
