'Pre-Eminent', RO6, leaving for Tarbert, 1952.
'Pre-Eminent', RO6, leaving for Tarbert Loch Fyne with 350 baskets of herring from Loch Striven, August 1952.

The ring-netter ‘Pre-eminent’ RO6 was skippered by William Hughes, and neighboured, in turn, ‘Guiding Star’ RO47, ‘Dewy Rose’ RO5 and ‘Sunshine’ CN76. She was bought in 1947 as the ‘Ina Bell’ CN46 of Carradale, built in 1929 by W. Weatherhead, Cockenzie, for Colin Oman (skipper), Colin John Oman and William Oman.

‘Pre-eminent’ ceased fishing in 1964 and was replaced that year by ‘Maid of the Mist’ CN120 of Carradale, which was registered RO56 by her owners, William, James, and Thomas Hughes (skipper), Port Bannatyne, Bute.
