Rodger Street, Cellardyke.
Postcard showing Rodger Street, Cellardyke.

This street of tenements was built between 1877 and 1883 to house fishing families. Each house had two dwellings - the lower with an external net loft to the rear, and the upper with a large 'garret' where nets and equipment were stored.

Rodger Street is named after the renowned Cellardyke-born captain and shipowner, Alexander Rodger (1801-1877).
