She was built in 1929 as ‘Dewy Rose’ BA69 by Walter Reekie, St Monans, for the Munro brothers, Dunure. When she was acquired by the Hughes family, Isle of Bute, from Mungo Munro, her name was retained, and her registration became RO5. She was skippered by Tommy Hughes and neighboured ‘Pre-eminent’ RO6.
