Title
'Brighter Morn', CN151, in harbour, Campbeltown, c.1962.
Description
'Brighter Morn', CN151, in harbour, Campbeltown, c.1962. At the time this image was taken, she was laid up for re-engining. She was originally built in 1956 as 'Nimrod', LH50, for Port Seton owners, but was later sold to Cecil Finn, Campbeltown, who owned her for around 5-6 years. She was later sold to owners in Peterhead. Also pictured, 'Fair Morn', BA54, was built at Fairlie Yacht Slip in 1949 for David Robertson Sr. and Jr., Campbeltown, as ‘Annie’ CN178. She was sold to owners in Ayr in 1957 and was afterwards acquired by the Munro family, Dunure, and became ‘Fair Morn’. A third boat in the photograph is unmentioned: the ring-netter ‘Regina Maris’ CN118, like ‘Fair Morn’ a Fairlie boat also launched in 1949, for Patrick ‘Pat’ McKay, Campbeltown. Original image from Robert Gillies, Campbeltown.
