Title
Crew of 'Evening Star', KY189, at Anstruther.
Description
Crew of 'Evening Star', KY189, at Anstruther. It is possible this image was taken in the 1930s, owing to the style of the clothing and where they are situated in the harbour. This area was often used by boats before they left for the winter herring. The deck is clear which suggests this was taken prior to the winter herring. L-R: W. Martin, Alex Wood, Rob Hughes, D. Wilson, T. Murray, C. Marr, J.Hughes, P. Anderson, W.Sutherland, and J. Gardner. Built in 1907 by James N Miller & Sons of St Monans for Robert Hughes & others, Cellardyke. Between 03/1915 and 1919 the boat was requisitioned for Admiralty Service as an anti-submarine net vessel. Pennant No. 2131. Broken up in 1937.
