So you want to be a volunteer with us? Excellent! We will be happy to have you onboard.

Currently, we are looking for volunteers to help us with cataloguing, describing, and keywording our images. This task is vital for access to our collections, as descriptions and keywords help us understand what is in the photograph and optimise our search.

All our volunteering is done remotely, so all you need is an internet connection and a good pair of eyes. We will provide you with training on our database.

We are especially interested in hearing from those within the fishing industry, both former and current! Your expertise would be invaluable in helping our collection become more in-depth and informative.

Volunteer recruitment process

1. Email photo@scotfishmuseum.org to express your interest in volunteering with us.

2. We will get back to you with an informal chat over email.

3. If you are happy to continue, we will send you documents such as the formal description, volunteer agreement and volunteer application form.

4. Once your application form is processed, we will either make you an account or your existing account will be upgraded to have editing privileges. You can then get started!
